Gratitude helps us hold on.
When JC was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, gratitude became more than a nice idea. It became a way of paying attention to what is still here, even in the middle of hard news and hard days.
I believe gratitude is part of what gets us through the tough times. Not because it makes the challenges disappear, or asks us to pretend everything is okay. It gives us a reason to pause for the small things that are still good: a funny moment, a kind word, a breath of relief, a meal together, a little bit of ordinary joy.
Despite all of the challenges, we are still loving our life together. We are still making memories, finding reasons to laugh, and noticing what we are blessed with. That is due, in no small part, to the small things.
Meet Hey, Thanks!
